USEFUL CONNECTIONS in the UK

This list of UK 'Connections' is an informal list of groups and organisations in the UK who may be of interest in some way to those who visit our website.  Some of these groups and organisations may offer further help and support in your healing; others may connect you with other like-minded individuals for friendship and community; and yet others may be great providers of information and help you find some answers to your questions. These groups and organisations are known to us to be steadfast, reliable and faithful but they are independent from us.  Therefore, we are not responsible for these groups or their actions.

YOUTH 2000, UK

Website:  www.youth2000.org

Contact: Jade Broadley

Email:  info@youth2000.org

Youth 2000 is an international Catholic initiative designed to draw young people into a relationship with Jesus through the intercession of Our Lady.

We host retreats and festivals across the UK for young people aged between 16-35 years. These events are a wonderful opportunity to connect with other young Catholics, explore the Catholic faith through the sacraments and experience God’s healing power through reconciliation and the Eucharist.

One of our core values is that our events are ‘led by young people for young people’. We have a mission team of over 100 volunteers who commit to journey together in faith and share the love of Jesus with their peers. The Youth 2000 mission team is a wonderful community where young people experience friendship, faith and formation on a deeper level and is open to all young people aged 16-35.

CRAIG LODGE, SCOTLAND

Website: www.craiglodge.org/

Contact: Ruth Black

Email:  mail@craiglodge.org

Craig Lodge is a place surrounded by hills near the village of Dalmally on the west coast of Scotland.  Craig Lodge Family House of Prayer is a fruit of Our Lady’s call to conversion in Medjugorje.  The Community that has developed is a response to that call.  Together they encourage one another to grow in holiness through living a life of prayer, service and evangelisation.

This House of Prayer has now been welcoming people searching for an encounter with the Lord for thirty years. It is a place of hospitality, healing and spiritual revival. It has always had a special care for the formation of young people. Building on this solid foundation of rich ministry experience, the Craig Lodge Community has started a new missionary-focused season and are eager to begin inviting young evangelisers into the House of Prayer. We will delight in the privilege of spiritually accompanying them during their time at Craig Lodge.

The Theology of the Body Network UK was launched in 2020 as a way of connecting all those from students, to stay at home Mums, to theologians, with an interest in the teachings of St Pope John Paul II on the beauty and theology of the human body.

The Network now has several hundred members and regularly runs retreats, talks and events across the UK. The aim of the Network is to connect all those interested in studying the Theology of the Body and the magisterial teaching on marriage and sexuality.  The founders, Dr Christine Ward and Fr David Marsden are both experts in the area. Christine teaches ‘Christian Anthropology & Sexual Ethics' for the Master’s programme at Maryvale and lectures on the Sacrament of Marriage at Oscott Seminary.  Both Fr David and Christine speak at Parish Missions, and at events including those run by Youth 2000 and New Dawn

Divine Renovation exists to inspire, connect, and equip priests and their parishes to go from maintenance to mission – for every Catholic parish to be a place where people can come and have their lives transformed by entering into relationship with Jesus.

Our vision for the UK is to inspire, connect and create community among a network of parishes intentionally pursuing mission, through the best of leadership principles, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

In the 4 years since parishes have started implementing Divine Renovation principles, we are seeing parishes bearing fruit as lives are transformed. Divine Renovation is currently connected with around 500 UK parishes – from parish leadership teams receiving one-to-one coaching, to cohorts of priests experiencing Coaching; and from parishes in group coaching, to those curious to learn more. We are here to come alongside you, to inspire, connect and equip you.
