Encountering the Lord through the Unbound Ministry Model
It was a day that many will not forget in a hurry - a day filled with faith, inner healing, freedom and the unmistakable presence of the Holy Spirit. Organised by the Diocese of Nottingham under the leadership of Joe Hopkins, Director of Adult Formation for Mission, in collaboration with UNBOUND UK, this special day drew people from across the diocese and further afield, who came seeking the healing love and freedom that only Jesus can give.
From the opening hymn to the final song of praise, hearts were touched, burdens lifted, and lives renewed as participants encountered Christ through the Five Keys® of the Unbound Deliverance Ministry model.
Grounded in the Life of the Church
The day began with Holy Mass with the Anointing of the Sick, celebrated by the Bishop of Nottingham, Rt Rev Patrick McKinney. The liturgy set the tone for the entire event - rooting everything in the life of the Church and the grace of the Sacraments.

Those present were invited to bring to the altar their wounds - physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual - trusting in the Lord’s mercy and healing power.
Understanding What Blocks God’s Healing
The first talk of the day was given by Sue Walsh, Coordinator for Unbound Ministry® in the UK. Her talk, “Why might we be blocked from receiving the Healing and Freedom God desires for us?”, helped participants reflect on the hidden wounds that can prevent us from living fully in the freedom that Christ offers.
Drawing on nearly ten years of Unbound ministry experience - and as an alumna of the two-year Encounter School of Supernatural Ministry - Sue spoke with confidence about how past trauma, unforgiveness, and lies we have believed about ourselves or about God can act as blockages to healing.
“Our woundedness,” Sue explained, “can become entry points for the enemy - ways he tries to keep us from the freedom Jesus has already won for us. But God’s plan is greater. His desire is to restore us fully - body, mind and spirit - so that we can live as beloved sons and daughters of our heavenly Father.”

Learning about the Five Keys® of Unbound Ministry®
After lunch, Anne Morton, team leader of 'Unbound Lincoln', gave a practical teaching on the Five Keys® of Unbound Ministry®, based on the work of Neal Lozano, author of 'Unbound: A Practical Guide to Deliverance'.
Anne explained that Unbound is first and foremost a model of evangelisation - a personal response to the Gospel message that helps people open their hearts to God’s freedom and inner healing.
She outlined each of the Five Keys®:
Repentance and Faith – Turning to God and believing His promises with a deeper faith.
Forgiveness – Releasing those who have hurt us, as we have been forgiven.
Renunciation – Saying “no” to lies, sin, idols, addictions and all that holds us back.
Authority – Taking up our God-given authority as His children to command these influences to leave, in Jesus’ name.
The Father’s Blessing – Receiving the blessing, love and affirmation of our heavenly Father that perhaps we have never been able to hear before.

“Unbound Ministry,” Anne said, “is not about focusing on evil but on Jesus. It’s about cooperating with grace - listening to deeply to a person's story, helping them see where the Lord is inviting them to experience more freedom, and proclaiming the truth of who they are in Christ.”
A Holy Hour of Inner Healing
The afternoon continued with a guided Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament, led by Sue. Participants were gently led through the Five Keys®, allowing the Lord to minister to their hearts in silence and adoration.
There was a deep stillness in the church as people repented, forgave, and renounced lies that had bound them for years. Confessions were also available, offering the sacramental grace of reconciliation.
In addition, Unbound Ministry® sessions were available for those who had pre-registered, with trained prayer ministers accompanying individuals through the Five Keys® in a one-hour confidential session. Many testified to experiencing release, peace, and clarity during these moments of personal prayer.
The Evening Healing Service
The day culminated in a Healing Service filled with reverence, faith, and joy. As the evening began, Sue proclaimed the Gospel and Anne Morton led Corporate Prayer and Declarations of Faith. Together, the congregation proclaimed the truth of who God is and who we are in Him - loved, chosen and free.
Words of knowledge were shared, and ministry teams moved quietly among the congregation, praying with those who raised their hands for prayer.
Then came one of the most moving moments of the day: a Eucharistic procession in which participants were invited to come forward to the Blessed Sacrament—“to reach out and touch the tassels of His cloak,” inspired by the Gospel story of the woman healed by Jesus’ touch. As people reached out in faith, many were visibly moved, and the presence of the Lord’s compassion was palpable throughout the church.
The worship ministry, One Hope Project, led songs of praise that lifted hearts in thanksgiving and joy. The final song was a triumphant declaration of God’s goodness—a fitting close to a day where heaven truly touched earth.

The Fruits of the Day
Testimonies have immediately poured in from participants who experienced peace, healing, and renewal. Many shared stories of forgiveness, of freedom from long-held burdens, and of a deep sense of being loved by God. These testimonies are a reminder that the Holy Spirit continues to move powerfully in the Church today - healing, freeing, and restoring His people through ministries like Unbound.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor… to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set the oppressed free.”
— Luke 4:18
